FEGG - G9 - Edmund - Chapter 5

Lukas, Sheila, Kristin and I were the best of friends.

We were like a family. Made pranks on eachothers, joked and laughed every day and we could tell eachother everything.

It wasn't weird at all that I dated Kristin and Sheila dated Lukas.

Actually, it made everything more cozy and exciting.

Today we went to the beach, next to the waterfall in Aurora Skies.

But the water was cold, so we spent the most of our time in the pool.

 And the girls sunbathed.

I made us lunch and trained up my cooking skills at the grill.

I was done eating way before everyone else, so I became bored sitting at that table.
I decided to take a dip in the pool.

"Ed, no, no, no, no!" Lukas exclaimed. "Never swim after eating! You can get cramps!"

 I grinned. "Trust me, Lukas. I won't."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After lunch, we drove to the movies. There we found someone familiar.

"Mom!" I exclaimed. "How are you!?"

Her face broke into a big smile. "My Edmund, you've grown so much!" I could almost see tears in her eyes. "I'm all right. I'm still living at the hospital. But I'll soon move into a little house not far away from there."

"I'm so happy you're better. But can't you move into our house? I'm sure Estella won't bother."

Mom shoke her head. "I'm sorry Edmund. But I will visit you more often. Now when I'm free from the hospital soon."

We chatted for a few minutes until the movie was about to start, then I ran inside to the others.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we got home we found a sprinkler in the backyard.

The first thing we did was to try it out. Estella had bought it to water the lawn, but hopefully she didn't mind that we played a little with it.

It was very fun, and Sheila soaked down the most of us.

Next was Lukas. But he wore his usual hoodie and jeans, instead of changing to swimming trunks.

"Don't jump into the water, Lukas!" Sheila exclaimed. "You'll get all wet! I don't want to hug and kiss a soaked boy. That's gross!"

 Kristin just laughed.

 And so did I.

"Don't be ridiculous, sweetie!" Lukas said and jumped over the sprinkler to get to the other side. "I can always change!"

"But I know you, you won't until your mom gets home and the whole house is wetted."

"She's already home, HIDE!" Kristin shouted.

We turned around and saw a smiling Estella at the backdoor.

"Hi mom!" Lukas said and waved.

FEGG - G9 - Edmund - Chapter 4

Lukas's house was big and beautiful.

Not as beautiful as our old home, but I liked it anyway.

The first thing my sister did was to redo her and Lukas's room.

Then she redid my room too.

I was the chef in our house. I made breakfast, lunch and dinner to everyone.

I wanted to learn every single recipe.

Lukas's mother, Estella Olivia, didn't like the fact of me cooking.

Not that she had anything against me, she just thought I shouldn't do it, I was the "guest".

And so was my sister, even though she ran around in her underwear.

"I'm sorry about what happened with your parents." Estella said.

Sheila looked at her. "I'm sorry too, even though it's my parents."

"I think it was wrong by your mother to leave you two. She could have waited a few years. At least until Edmund became old enough to live alone."

"Don't blame her, she visited us almost every other day!"

"But she still left you! That's not right."

I sat down at the table, with a plate full of pancakes. I didn't sat anything.

I didn't blame our mother, but I was sad of what she did. Estella was right, she shouldn't have left us.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But I don't think Sheila minded too much.

She just loved being close to her boyfriend every single day.

Kristin didn't live here, so for me, it was way boring.

But she tried to visit me very often. She knew I felt lonely in this house.

And Kristin and Sheila became very good friends.

FEGG - G9 - Edmund - Chapter 3

After mom, Sheila was the one who cried the most. Lucky for her, he had a shoulder to cry on.

Her new boyfriend Lukas's shoulder.

Also one of my best friends.

I also had a wonderful girlfriend. Kristin was her name.

But poor mom had no one. Except the therapist.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was about a month after dad's death.

Mom called my sis and I to a meeting in the kitchen.

"My therapist... and I have talked..." mom began. "She thinks that I need to.. I don't know... relax for a couple of weeks. She says I shouldn't be here in this house anymore."

"What... What are you saying? Are you thinking about moving? I don't want to move, mom! This is where dad is. We can't leave him here!" Sheila said.

"Not... not really... You kids won't move with me. I'm actually not moving to a house... I'm moving to the hospital."

Sheila stared at mom. "Hospital? But you aren't sick! There's no need to be hospitalized when you're just depressed!"

"You don't understand sweetheart." mom said. "It's not just a depression, she's worried that it's more than that. She wants me to rest at the hospital for awhile, it won't be a long time."

Sheila looked at me. I had nothing to say. I was stunned.

"What will happen to me and Edmund?" Sheila said. "We can't live alone here!"

Mom wrapped her into a hug. "You'll do just fine. I'll visit you so often I can. I promise."

"I love you mom." Sheila sobbed. "I wish nothing of this ever happened."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The weeks passed by. It was just me and Sheila in the house.

Well, if you discount Lukas and Kristin, those times they were at our house.

Sheila thought she was getting fat, so she started to run on the treadmill.

She even started thinking it was really fun, so she started to study athletics.

Mom visited us sometimes, but for each time, she just looked more and more tired and weak.

I was so worried for her. I didn't want mom do die too.

My sister graduated school and she was starting to think about moving.

That means, I will be left alone.

"I talked to Lukas." Sheila said, while putting a piece of cake in her mouth. "He said that we could move in with him and his mother."

"We?" I stared at Sheila.

"Of course, 'we'! You didn't think I would leave you all alone, did you?"
