FEGG - G8 - Cosmo - Chapter 3

I hated my homework. Even when Demond sat in the chair next to me, while I did it, I hated it.

Especially math. I didn't understand when in my life I would need how to calculate a lot of equations. I was never going to be a chemist or stuff like that. The only thing I wanted to do was to read my books.

Actually, I had no idea at all what I wanted to work with as an adult.
And when I knew, I could start go to school.

I could see how Demond glanced at my empty notebook a few times.
It disturbed me.

After about half an hour, with my notebook still empty, I rose from my chair.

Demond also rose from his chair. "Are you already done?"

I glared at him. "No, but I can't do this stupid homework."

"I can help you." he said.

I looked at him. Was he serious? He sat down on the kitchen floor and patted on the floor beside him. "Sit down."

I did as he said and picked up my notebook again.

"Do you really remember how to calculate equations?" I asked him.

He laughed. "Well, it wasn't long ago I did it. I finished school right before I started working here."

"Is that so?" I asked. "Well, then you can do my homework. You know how it should be done."

He just looked at me.

I leaned forward and then, he started to helping me.

We had really fun, and Demond was so smart.

And as the same time he helped me with my homework, we talked about a lot of stuff.

I asked him about how his life had been before he moved here, and he told me a lot.

Even after I finished my homework, I kept hanging around him a lot. I even helped him with cleaning.

I almost started to believe that he liked me. But maybe it just was my wishes.

Until one day when Tom came upstairs while Demond and I was talking.
He glared at us.

And he walked straight up to me.

"WHAT do you two think you're doing?!" he shouted.

I stared at Tom. "What..?"

"You, young girl, should know that you can't keep someone from working! Or else Amanda and I have to fire him!"

"You can't do that!" I yelled.

"Of course we can, he is WORKING here. He isn't here just to flirt with some stupid kid."

Then Tom turned to Demond. "Back to work before you cause anymore trouble."

Demond just nodded slowly. "I'm sorry, sir. It won't happen again."

I stared at Demond as he walked away. "NOTHING HAPPENED!" I shouted. "What are you talking about?!"

Tom glared at me and raised his fist. I squeaked and ran away to my room before he could do anything else.

Demond

I felt so bad for her. This was all my fault.

I knew all the time that I wasn't allowed to socialize with the people I worked for. But I couldn't stop myself. I just wanted to be with her and make her happy. But now I could hear her cry from her bed.

I felt horrible.

And I didn't like her mom and Tom either. They were so mean, and didn't care about her at all.

I had seen Tom hit Cosmo a few times, but the only thing I could do was to close my eyes and look another way.

If I did something else, I would be fired, and I don't think that would help Cosmo either.
What if they hired another butler, who was exactly as her parents then?

The only time I could be with her, without her parents punish her, was when I helped her with her homework.
I loved that time of the day.

And then we could talk a little afterwards. But not for too long.

She was so cute. I wondered if she felt the same for me, as I did for her.
Probably not. She would surely rather be with guys in her own age.

But it didn't hurt anyone that I liked to be with her, did it?

The only thing I actually feared, was the day she graduated school. If I guessed right, she would probably leave this family as fast as possible, and then I would be left with her mean parents.
But maybe it was good. Atleast for her.
