When I came home from school one day, I made myself a crown, and stood on a chair in the kitchen and delivered a speech for the other chairs at the table.
Theodor smiled when he walked past.
"Sweetie... what are you doing?" my mother asked when she came into the kitchen.
I just ignored her and kept on talking to the chairs.
She sat down at the table across from Theodor. They laughed and talked about my fantasy.
"She must have inherited it from your father," mom said smiling.
Theodor laughed. "Yeah, it's entertaining."
A few hours later a weird sound came from the TV and we could heard dad scream.
I ran downstairs and saw that the TV was burning. And my father stood there, all black!
"OH MY! DADDY?! WHAT HAPPENED?!" I shouted and stared at the fire.
Dad didn't answer me.
"We need to get the kids out of here!!!" mom shouted.
Dad still didn't answer. He just took a fire extinguisher and tried to put out the fire.
And no one of the kids did as mom said. I stood there, screaming. I had never seen a fire in my whole life, and I was so afraid of what could happen.
Dad had problems with the fire extinguisher.
Then FINALLY a fire fighter came! She tried to put out the fire and a few seconds later, the fire was gone! It had just left a black TV and a branding on the floor.
It was chaos in our family now. Everybody was screaming and mom was crying and dad just stood there. All black.
I could even hear my sister scream from upstairs.
I ran to dad and with tears in my eyes, I gave him a hug.
"Sweetie..." he said. "I'm okay. The fire is gone."
"I know..." I cried. "I'm so happy you're not hurt."
He smiled sadly. "I know."
Then he just sat down in the couch. He didn't even take a shower to get rid of the soot.
I guess that he was shocked.
My poor little daddy...
